I saw Star Trek yesterday.

Excellent film, easily my second favorite Trek behind first contact. I accept that new trek is probably the better film, however I prefer the charachters of first contact.

The cast was brilliant and with the exeption of simon pegg all the characters even looked like their predessors. Speaking of Simon Pegg i was worried he was gonna fuck it up, and although he made it comic, he was very good at it.

The one thing I didn't like, and a minor thing really was Sulu's collapsable katana... the guy says he is a fencer like a minute before, in the show he was a western fencer and judo black belt, and in the film he swings the sword around like a baseball bat... the only thinking could have been, "katanas are cool - lets give the japanese guy one!"... that and the beastie boys on the sound track :(

As all White Wolf Readers will know most of the games have some insperation material for the feel of the game at the begining of the books.

Today White wolf gave a list for Hunter, the new game based on an old game which was shit.

I haven't yet formed an opinion on hunter as the last game based on an old game that was shit (Changeling) turned out to be really good.

However this list did not inspire me with confidence.

Some books I have never read in the non fiction section, in the fiction section the thing that lept out was IT by Steven King, as a kid that book scared me, but it was not the kids... the ones we would be playing that did that.

Moving onto the movies section I was hit with one I expected to be there... Frailty,... now Frailty was also in the WOD book and shows us truley the side of scary hunters... a man obbsessed and possibly insane.

I also saw one that I didn't guess would be there, a film called Fallen with Denzil Washington. This shows us the other side of Scary unters... you know you are in the right, but the baddies make it look like you are insane and a murderer.

All of this made me smile.

The TV section was where it fell.

I scrolled down and saw Supernatural... Now I have never seen Supernatural, I am led to believe it is quite good, even if it's an american attempt at a Dr. Who like series (not my words, the words of a friend)

You see, It really upsets me to see the organisation fail, I have just about come to ters with the fact that when Tiffany and Philip go it is going to start a chain reaction of people leaving that will end the Manchester game, but I still think that the Cam has issues that are going to bury it.

I don't really know why I care, but I do know that I don't want to see this thing that I have put so much money and time into fall flat.

I thought this through in my head and I decided there were three kinds of people in the Cam - Good guys that looked at the big picture and were trying to help this adjustment into requiem, the bad guys that flap their arms, whineing about the state of the game whilst not doing anything and the others who are so burnt out or noncomital that it doesn't affect them

That was when the realisation hit me...

I am not one of the good guys.

At the moment I am very much in the bad guy camp... I sit and somehow justify all this stress I feel about the Camarilla without really doing anything to help, and considering all the free time I have that is a little bit of a joke.

I think my main problem is I don't know what I can do to help. I spend alot of time worrying about If I am good enough for this organisation, to the degree where it is a major cause of stress to my lifestyle at the moment.

A prime example would be when I was having a conversation with Keymar and some other guys. Keymar stated that he needed some ARST's for other venues, ones he didn't play. I kept my mouth shut.

No let me be clear here... I am not so egotistical that I think I am a good choice for ARST Forsaken, I have never even played the game... but I know enough about the rules (I am a spounge for rules) and the setting that I might have made a good interim. I should have spoken up... the worst that could happen is that Keymar said no... And even then I still would have tried.

What it comes down to is that I realise I am doing nothing for the cam, on any level... whether it is running a local game, or mentoring new players.. I am doing nowt.

That needs to stop, because honestly, I'd rather be burnt out than a bad guy and I am not gonna burn out anytime soon
